(a note about imposing
one's will and ideas on others)

"I'm always uneasy
about the concept of "speaking truth," as if we somehow know the truth
and only have to enlighten others who have not risen to our elevated
level. The search for truth is a cooperative, unending endeavor. We can
and should engage in it to the extent we can, and encourage others to do
so as well, seeking to free ourselves from constraints imposed by
coercive institutions, dogma, irrationality, excessive conformity, the
lack of initiative and imagination, and numerous other obstacles."
---- Noam Chomsky |
This theory is stating basic cause-and-effect, and making the case
for the actual, the genuine, the workable, common courtesy, love and consideration. It is stating that
unrestrained procreation depletes natural resources and space to the
point of making life misery for everyone, or most.......even to the point of
threatening the totality of life on this planet itself.....and....that it is not all right to force
others........to do.....what they do not want to do, to take
advantage of them, or to use them.
In order to try to explain this I would like to began by quoting from
the book "Earth Federation Now, Tomorrow Is Too Late" by Errol E.
Harris. He says: "there are some who object to the Constitution
because the body that drafted it was not democratically elected, but
what makes a Constitution Democratic is not how, or by whom, it was
drafted but whether it is freely accepted by those who are to become
subject to its provisions." This represents one aspect to
this, and what follows below is the other aspect.
This gets tricky of course, because
there are so many
"truths", "realities" and, or different ideas to imagine and
things to do and create, in fact
they are infinite. If one could see beyond these
very simple goals and ethics which are being put forth, which are not
being
demanded for for all humanity, but merely to be voluntarily chosen by those
who see this as simply a practical solution regarding survival, health
and living in tune and in harmony with nature and each other....... one
might realize that in this situation the individual would be in a
position to personally manifest their own "truths" and "realities"
to a
far greater extent than is presently possible under the presumed
circumstances of us "thinking" we are in possession of some sort of
great freedom under our present social, economic and cultural
circumstances. Our so-called freedoms in this uncooperative and
"everybody for themselves" culture are not only severely limiting our
abilities to manifest our own personal "truths" and "realities"
and, or what we want to do and create, it is
becoming increasingly difficult to even survive, or feel the slightest
bit secure.
This proposal, if anything, is exactly about enabling us as individuals to
manifest our own "truths" and "realities" and do
what we love, be productive and creative. And yet, at the same
time, not live in a socially and culturally isolated state, nor be
terribly burdened by basic survival inefficiencies.
This entire proposition is simply an attempt at explaining how, or why
the proposed goals and ethics are possibly one pragmatic answer to the
question: how can we live in such a way that we can not only be well
fed, well housed and live in harmony with nature and each other.....but
also so
that we can indeed manifest our own "realities",
our own "truths"
and "follow our bliss", be productive and creative, to do what we love
and what gives us meaning to
the greatest extent possible.
One big caveat however: if one's "reality", ones "truth",
one's overriding drive is about
"having instead of being";
if it is about seeking
economic, social or sexual advantage over
others through the amassing, use or control of capital assets, or the obtaining of favored
positions such as particular jobs, then yes, one will see this
as a huge imposition on one's freedom. This state of being is about having
the freedom to find and make one's own "reality" and to find
one's own "truth"; it is
about being in an living situation, a community and creating the opportunity
(FOR ALL) to be productive, creative
and to be as secure as we can be in this, always, unpredictable world.
Imposing one's will on others:
1. Having as many children as one wants and
thereby over populating the planet and reducing the available natural
resources upon which we ALL depend, is most
definitely imposing one's ideas, reality and truths on others.
2. Imposing building codes, zoning
restrictions, schooling laws and taxes on people in a non-voluntary
fashion is forcing one's ideas, reality, and truths on others. Of
course, the condition of overpopulation greatly affects people's ability
to find their own plot of ground to live undisturbed by others.
