It is true though, if one is still under the
mistaken ILLUSION that "freedom and prosperity" connote
"doing and having"
ABSOLUTELY
whatever one wants (or thinks one needs),
whenever one wants......then this proposal would not be of much help.
However, if one has reached that degree of
maturity which realizes that the
freedom described above is nothing but a lifetime sentence of serfdom,
slavery or otherwise greatly diminished life experience...not to
mention the effect on others and the environment. Then one will
understand that having the desire to live as simply as possible, (yet
without sacrificing in any way getting one's real needs met); and by
sharing the most expensive resources we all need, and by working
cooperatively together (just a little), we will
ALL have a far better life experience, not create wars, or
create criminals, and we won't destroy our beautiful environment.
Note: when I speak about "having or
doing whatever one wants", I'm speaking about not personally needing to own
very large and expensive items such as personal homes and "land" and say,
traveling in very expensive ways such as "cruises", or taking trips that are
short in time (duration), but very long in distance "trips".
I am not talking about things which one needs
to earn a living, or that new lap top computer, or bicycle or what ever
small and personal thing per se, one just must have.....though in this new
world that I and others are envisioning, we suspect "computing" is going to
take on a greatly diminished role, and will probably find that our needs and
desires may diminish greatly. I think we are already seeing the limitations
of "cybernetic relating" and the futility of needing or wanting so much
"stuff".
