I have studied Jack Reed's ideas, particularly I have read portions of his book that are combined in the book collaboration together with Jim Costa, and The Cooperative Village foundation Project  in Pensacola, Florida.

For an in depth radio audio interview, click here.

Even though projections for numbers of people and ideas for design, infrastructure and houses, or particular uses of technology may differ, (it seems hard for anyone at this point to truly know what is exactly the best approach regarding exact population numbers and other details) my feeling is, what is being proposed by these individuals, in essence, is the same as what is being proposed on this website.  This concept seems to defying an easy label, for it is not strict capitalism, socialism, egalitarianism or communism. Probably cooperative anarchism may come the closest. In a sense, it is a hybrid of all of these.  It is trying to combine the best of all, while dropping what doesn't work.  Giving ourselves the support of community, and yet, allowing for the full flowering of the individual.  In other words, allowing the individual to choose, depending on interests and proclivity to be either lightly, moderately, or heavily productive.  It would guarantee to community members an assurance that one's basic needs for survival would be taken care of for a minimal of effort; mostly regarding time (labor) and probably a very small amount of money as well.  And that the "extras" would be left up to the individual to either procure for themselves if they chose, or not. It would accomplish this through the sharing of major resources, a small amount of cooperative work, intelligent use of technology, and efficiency.
